Looks as if it has grown out from a coral reef underwater.This example is one of only three that I know the artist created of this scale One is currently on display at the Chicago institute of Arts, the second is in a private European collection.Her inspiration lies in the steady growth of natural objects, pine cones, the growth of life over season, years, and eons.Age: Contemporary circa 2022Dimensions: 32″ high 18 1/2″ wideYamaguchi Mio’s first solo exhibition was heal at Gallery Suki in Aichi prefecture in 2021 and her work was a runner up at the Kasama Ceramics Taishou Grand Prize exhibition. In 2022 she debuted in both China and Korea. In 2023 she held a solo exhibition at the Meguro Togei Kan in Mie prefecture and her work was featured in the ceramic synergy exhibition at the Kyoto municipal Kyocera museum. As well as the Radical Clay: Contemporary women artist from Japan Exhibition which will tour the US, beginning in Chicago in December 2023.
