Chinese Antique Carved Jade Amulet of a Figure Riding a Fu-Lion

DescriptionAntique Chinese jade amulet of a figure riding a fu-lion. Carved in relief with a background of swirling clouds. The figure appears to be a nobleman or scholar due to his hat and ruyi scepter but is possibly a Taoist deity. The stone is pierced near the top for the attachment of a cord. A striking orange color with red striations, it is beautifully worn and polished with age. Provenance: from a prominent Los Angeles estate.Age: Ming Dynasty 1368-1644Dimensions: 2 1/2″ high x 1 3/4″ wide x 1/2″ deep.
