Description COURSE CONTENT & STRUCTURE Overview Designed to equip learners with advanced knowledge and practical skills necessary to perform advanced beauty therapy and aesthetic procedures professionally. It lays the foundation for both employment and further study. Units Mandatory Units (must complete all five): Health, safety and hygiene for aesthetic procedures Client consultation for aesthetic procedures The biochemistry and biology of cells Skin morphology and the inflammatory response Skin disorders and diseases relative to aesthetic practice. Optional Units (choose at least three): Skin rejuvenation using a plasma device Skin rejuvenation using microneedling Skin rejuvenation using superficial chemical peels Skin rejuvenation using mesotherapy Skin rejuvenation using laser, light and energy-based devices Skin rejuvenation using electrotherapy Skin rejuvenation using dermaplaning Skincare to support aesthetic procedures Business and financial effectiveness LEARNING OUTCOMES Participants will be able to: Apply essential health, safety, and hygiene protocols during aesthetic procedures. Conduct effective client consultations to tailor treatments to individual needs. Understand cell biology and biochemistry, including specialization and internal organization of cells. Comprehend skin structure, function, inflammatory responses, aging, and facial anatomy. Identify common skin types, disorders, ageing processes, and related facial anatomy.6–14. Execute a variety of rejuvenation techniques (e.g., plasma, microneedling, peels, mesotherapy, laser/energy-based procedures, electrotherapy, dermaplaning). Advise on skincare to support and maintain aesthetic treatment outcomes. Evaluate and apply business and financial strategies within aesthetic practice. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be 18 or older, with a Level 3 qualification or apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy—or equivalent industry experience—for direct entry. If skipping to Level 4 directly, the optional unit “Skincare to support aesthetic procedures” must be selected to ensure foundational knowledge. A First Aid at Work qualification (or equivalent) is required, plus the ability to perform basic life support under SFHCHS36.
