DescriptionStriking antique kutani yaki (九谷焼) plate featuring a central image of pheasants beneath blooming chrysanthemums, symbols of nobility and longevity in Japanese art. The design is set against a geometric scale-patterned background, bordered by vivid alternating green, red, and gold geometric motifs, and presented on a scalloped rim form. This Kutani plate is finely hand-painted with polychrome overglaze enamels, a hallmark of Kutani ceramic tradition dating back to the 17th century.
